About

Matthew Konchel’s law firm, Konchel & Associates, P.C. is a boutique estate planning and business law practice based out of Chester County that focuses on helping business owners and families build succession and estate plans to protect the people they love, with the primary goal of keeping themselves, their businesses, and their loved ones out of court and out of conflict. Originally hailing from Michigan’s Detroit area, Matthew Konchel is a combat veteran, having served as a paratrooper in the Persian Gulf War with the U.S. Army’s “All-American” 82nd Airborne Division. Once discharged, Matthew worked in the business offices of Fortune 500 company United Parcel Service (UPS) before moving to Pennsylvania to attend Temple Law School. Prior to founding Konchel and Associates, Matthew served as the managing attorney of a successful mid-sized Bucks County mid-sized litigation-focused law practice as well as a Director of Alumni Affairs, Development and Planned Giving for Temple University.

As a result of his life experiences, Matthew knows what it is like to be an employee, a business owner, a soldier, a parent, and a son, and how challenging these roles can be and how they can clash. Accordingly, Matthew serves the estate, legacy and corporate planning needs of business owners and entrepreneurs, veterans, real estate investors, retirees, LGBTQ families, parents, and blended families to help them protect their lives, legacies and assets and help ensure that their wealth and, most importantly, their values are passed from generation to generation. Matthew has been married to his childhood sweetheart Lisa for 33 years, is the father of two Downingtown West High School graduates and is proficiently fluent in movie quotes and music lyrics.

In only the past few months, Matthew has spoken locally before groups of professionals on topics such as:

Estate Planning Basics: What You Don’t Know That You Don’t Know;

Things Every Senior Should Know About Estate Planning & Elder Law;

Kid’s Protection Planning: Overcoming Flaws in the Traditional Estate Planning System; and
